OUR HISTORY
For 36 years ourhigh-level picture framing expertise has built
and perpetuated the reputation of ATELIER MANGON

Established in 1989 by Franck Mangon, the company began a new chapter in 2016 with the arrival of Sophie CHIR MANGON.

In 2018, Franck MANGON and Sophie CHIR MANGON went into partnership, establishing the company SAS ATELIER FRANKC MANGON and setting up their framing workshop in 600 m2 of premises in Bezons (In the Paris suburbs).

FRAME : The frames are custom-made in our workshop
- JOINING SOLUTIONS : Staples or lamellos
- FRAMES : The frames with glass, the flush frames, as well as the American boxes can be made with different species of solid wood (Beech, Oak, Maple, Ayous, Ramin...) or offered in a wide range of finishes (Choice from more than 3.000 references). The woods can be left raw, but they can also be stained or painted by hand in our workshop according to the color of your choice (RAL color chart)

ATELIER MANGON frames artworks by Françoise Pétrovitch exhibited at the FHEL in Landerneau from 17 October 2021 - 3 April 2022
At the request of the FHEL (Fonds Hélène et Édouard LECLERC), ATELIER MANGON made all the frames for the paintings by Françoise Pétrovitch exhibited at the Halle des Capucins in Landerneau : a world of poetic yet disturbing images peopled with human and animal figures. The exhibition, curated by Camille Morineau and Lucia Pesapane, tells stories focusing on recurrent themes in her work via a rich selection of paintings.
DRAWINGFACTORY HOSTING 30 CONTEMPORARY DRAWING STUDIOS // 22 March - 20 September 2021
Once again, ATELIER MANGON was involved in Christine PHAL’sexciting projects as partner of the DRAWINGFACTORY hosting 30 contemporary artstudios. Initiated by Christine PHAL, founder of Drawing Lab Paris, Carine Tissot, director of the DRAWING NOW ART FAIR and the DRAWING HOTEL, with support from the CNAP (Centre National des Arts Plastiques) and in partnership with property developer SOFERIM, the DRAWINGFACTORY took place from 22 March to 20 September 2021 in a former hotel at number 11 Avenue Mac Mahon in Paris.
The DRAWINGFACTORY is a forum for dialogue, experimentation and creation. The Drawing Lab Paris teams bring collectors, art lovers and professionals together at occasional events that make DRAWINGFACTORY into a hotbed of creativity in Paris. The CNAP gives artists free access to a workspace allowing them to pursue their projects or develop new ones, and also provides a monthly grant. 30 artists were selected.

ATELIER MANGON is supporting the arts by becoming a sponsor of the Cité Internationale des Arts. La Cité Internationale des Arts (CIA), a public-interest foundation and artists-in-residence facility
in Paris that hosts artists working in all media and of all nationalities. It occupies 2 sites, one in the Marais and the other in Montmartre.
The Cité Internationale des Arts is a Franco-Scandinavian venture that was originally the brainchild of the Finnish artist Eero Snellamn (1890–1951) ; he proposed the idea during a speech made at the 1937 World’s Fair. Only after the Second World War did Monsieur and Madame Félix Brunau return to the idea, making it into a fully-fledged project. It took the form of an association created in 1947 that was supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the Académie des Beaux-arts and the City of Paris. The building in the Marais was designed by architects Paul Tournon and Olivier-Clément Cacoub. TheBrunaus would run and develop the Cité Internationale des Arts for almost half a century.

Original drawings for graphic novels framed by ATELIER MANGON
This exhibition of over 60 drawings highlighted how graphic novels and other manifestations of the art of drawing influence one another today. On show were works by Jochen Gerner, Patrice Killoffer, Johanna Schipper, Julie Doucet, David B., Robert Combas, Christelle Tea, François Henninger, Bob Swaim, Glen Baxter, Moolinex and others, giving visitors an insight into how drawing lives at the heart of an artistic project.

Franck Mangon, an avid graphicnovel fan, supported the Drawing Now Art Fair by providing the frames for the exhibition BD/DRAWING : Correspondances.
